How to open an ice cream store in Florida?
You don't have to be an expert ice cream maker or a Harvard Business Graduate to open an ice cream store in Florida or anywhere. You need some money, time, sweat-equity and passion.
What does it take to start an Ice Cream Store?
The first key factor to consider is: 1 - Have a passion for making people Happy. Yes, you will be in the business of making people happy by serving the world's best ice cream made fresh in your store everyday! I can teach you how to open an ice cream business, but you have to have passion for people and having fun while working.
2 - Most important factor is Time. Yes time...do you have the time to invest 6 or 7 days a week for at least the first year, to make your ice cream store successful. I talk about adding employees in my Ice Cream Boot Camp Training Manual. The first employee has to be you or your team of owners. You will have to invest a lot of "Sweat-Equity" to make your ice cream store successful. After you invest some time and find the right employees, you can slow down and enjoy your customer.

3 - Sweat Equity entails setting up the store's interior and exterior. What types of tables and chairs do you want. Don't go out and buy the top of line all matching tables and chairs, right at the beginning. I discuss how to add tables and chairs (and decor) in my Ice Cream Boot Camp Kit. I have a different view of your store's fixtures. Start with some used furniture you can find at garage sales then go buy the matching stainless steel sets after you start making money.
4 - Finding a Location. I used to hear from my in-person classes "But how do I find the Right location?". I have developed a formula and a way to look for the perfect location. Let me give you a short clue...no, it is not located in the busy shopping center where you will have to pay enormous rent. I spend a whole chapter in the Ice Cream Boot Camp Kit discussing the tips and tricks, I used, to open hundreds of successful Ice Cream Stores after teaching my in-person classes. Now, I have simplified it to a study-on-your-own kit with full video instructions, recipes and how to pages. Plus, once you buy an Ice Cream Boot Camp Kit, you get unlimited email access to me. Just email me your questions and I will help you find a solution to your problem.
This isn't rocket science. It's fun, light-hearted and very profitable, if you don't over spend and follow my step-by-step guidelines in the kit.
Research a name that includes Ice Cream in it.
When you start to research your Ice Cream Store business name, try your best to include the words "Ice Cream" or Frozen Desserts" in the name. Bryan, my website designer says it will help customers find you when searching on the internet. I wouldn't open an ice cream store and name it "Frank's Place". No one will know you serve the world's best ice cream with a name like that. Now change it to "Frank's Ice Cream Parlor", now you are telling the world, what you sell. Then the rest is up to you by advertising on the internet by having a website designed, creating a YouTube channel, Instagram and a Facebook page. The other social media is up to you. This again is part of the "Sweat Equity" I mentioned. Do as much yourself, the first year, save some money, then hire someone to do social media for you after you have recouped your costs and started taking care of your family, financially.
